The January meetings will kickoff with our Government Agency partner representatives from: The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA-State Troopers), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), The Alabama Department of Revenue (DOR), and the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT).
Our Agency partners will update us on items such as: a map of crash trends and crash risks covering the 2025 calendar year, ALEA planned enforcement activities for the 2026 calendar year, FMCSA updates on the new upcoming changes to FMCSA's Safety Measurement System- which are planned to completely revamp the SMS scoring methodology (SMS), ALDOT updates on upcoming construction zone plans for 2026 which will provide attendees understanding of road construction projects which will present logistical challenges for companies and drivers in 2026 before they occur, Department of Revenue updates on "peeling tag" issues and progress towards correction of those issues, and most importantly an opportunity to network and build relationships or ask questions of those entities who regulate our industry.
